At the beginning of the next work period, the mobile user may either accept the inventory levels from the administrative back-end using the Update function or continue ‘ownership’ from the previous work period.
At any time the mobile user may adjust the inventory using the following functions: Arrival, Departure, Adjust up/down, Order, and Count. This means that daily transactions between mobile inventories, such as supplying a spare part from one service van to another, are now supported by a fully integrated administrative system where information is captured at the source and with full traceability.
Because the system is fully integrated periodic transactions such as inventory counts can now be performed by the “information owner” when convenient and with a higher frequency than before where organizations typically did inventory counts over a weekend.
